USAID / Protected Areas & Rural Enterprise (PARE) Project

Provided business development, marketing and communications services to the PARE project, an initiative of the United States Agency for International Development and the United States Forest Service designed to strengthen Jamaica’s environmental sustainability by improving natural resource management, reducing threats to biological diversity and improving economic opportunities in Jamaica.

Led a new marketing and branding initiative for the Cockpit Country region of Jamaica, which included creating a Cockpit Country brand and website to be used to market the region.

 

Worked with the PARE project team, community entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to develop, launch, and market a new eco-tourism site in the Cockpit Country that included planning and executing a launch event at the site, developing promotional materials, and coordinating media coverage.

Worked with Cockpit Country community businesspersons to write business plans for several community-based businesses.

Provided public relations services to the project including writing and disseminating press releases and other project promotional materials, and coordinating media coverage for a variety of project events.

Coordinated community business training programme covering a range of business topics tailored to micro-entrepreneurs.
